Panasonic recommends a PCB layout with a large copper area under the capacitor to reduce ESR. A 2-layer PCB with a solid ground plane on the bottom layer and a wide trace on the top layer connecting the capacitor pads is recommended.
The EEUFC1C221 is designed to operate up to 100 kHz, but its impedance may increase at higher frequencies due to ESL and ESR. For high-frequency applications, it's recommended to use a capacitor with a lower ESL and ESR, such as the Panasonic EEH-Z1 series.
The EEUFC1C221 is rated for operation up to 125°C, but its capacitance and ESR may change at high temperatures. For applications above 125°C, it's recommended to use a capacitor with a higher temperature rating, such as the Panasonic EEH-Z1H series.
To prevent damage during PCB assembly, handle the EEUFC1C221 by the body, not the leads. Avoid bending or flexing the leads, and use a soldering iron with a temperature below 260°C to prevent damage to the internal components.
Panasonic recommends a soldering profile with a peak temperature of 240°C, a dwell time of 2-3 seconds, and a cooling rate of 2-4°C/second to prevent damage to the internal components.
