Coiltronics recommends a pad layout with a diameter of 0.125 inches (3.18 mm) for the inner pad and 0.225 inches (5.72 mm) for the outer pad, with a non-solder mask defined (NSMD) pad shape.
To minimize thermal resistance, ensure good thermal conduction between the inductor and the PCB. Use a thermal interface material (TIM) and a heat sink if necessary. Also, consider the inductor's thermal derating curve to avoid overheating.
The maximum allowed voltage for the DR127-220-R is 250 Vrms. Exceeding this voltage may cause damage to the inductor.
To ensure effective magnetic shielding, keep the inductor at least 5 mm away from other magnetic components, and orient the inductor to minimize magnetic field coupling. Use a shielded enclosure or a mu-metal shield if necessary.
Store the inductors in their original packaging, away from direct sunlight, moisture, and extreme temperatures. Handle the inductors by the body, avoiding touching the leads or core. Use anti-static wrist straps and mats when handling the inductors.
