Diodes Incorporated recommends a PCB layout with a solid ground plane, short traces, and minimal vias to reduce parasitic inductance and capacitance. A 4-layer PCB with a dedicated power plane and a separate ground plane is also recommended.
Proper thermal management can be achieved by providing a heat sink with a thermal resistance of less than 10°C/W, ensuring good airflow, and keeping the device away from heat sources. The device's thermal pad should be soldered to a copper plane on the PCB to facilitate heat dissipation.
The maximum allowed voltage on the EN pin is 6V. Exceeding this voltage may damage the device. It's recommended to use a voltage limiter or a resistor divider network to ensure the EN pin voltage remains within the specified range.
