A 2-layer or 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and thermal vias is recommended. Ensure a minimum of 1 oz copper thickness and a thermal relief pattern under the device.
Use a gate drive circuit with a low impedance output stage, a fast rise/fall time (<10 ns), and a voltage swing of 10-15 V to ensure proper switching. A dedicated gate driver IC or a discrete transistor-based design can be used.
The bootstrap capacitor voltage should not exceed 20 V to prevent damage to the internal bootstrap diode. Ensure the capacitor is rated for the maximum voltage and has a low ESR.
Use a robust power supply with a low output impedance and a high current rating. Ensure the PCB traces and vias can handle the high current, and consider using multiple layers or a thick copper layer for current-carrying paths.
The recommended operating frequency range is 100 kHz to 500 kHz. However, the device can operate up to 1 MHz, but with reduced efficiency and increased losses.
