A 1-10uF ceramic capacitor (X5R or X7R dielectric) is recommended for input decoupling, placed as close to the VIN pin as possible.
Ensure the output capacitor is a low-ESR type (e.g., ceramic or film capacitor) with a value between 1-10uF, and place it close to the VOUT pin. Also, keep the input and output capacitors as close to the regulator as possible.
The maximum allowed voltage drop is 2.5V (VIN - VOUT). Exceeding this may affect the regulator's performance and stability.
The CDBA3100-HF is rated for operation up to 125°C. However, the maximum junction temperature (TJ) should not exceed 150°C. Ensure proper thermal design and heat dissipation to prevent overheating.
Power dissipation (PD) can be calculated as PD = (VIN - VOUT) x IOUT. Heat generation can be estimated using the thermal resistance (RθJA) and power dissipation: Temperature rise (ΔT) = PD x RθJA.
