Infineon provides a recommended PCB layout in the application note AN191 'Layout Recommendations for BTS5210LAUMA1' which includes guidelines for thermal vias, copper filling, and component placement.
The sense resistor value depends on the application's current sensing requirements. A general guideline is to choose a sense resistor value that results in a voltage drop of 50-100 mV at the maximum expected current. Infineon provides a sense resistor calculation tool to help with the selection.
The maximum allowed voltage on the VCC pin is 27 V, as specified in the datasheet. Exceeding this voltage may damage the device.
