ROHM recommends a 2-layer or 4-layer PCB with a thermal relief pattern on the bottom layer to improve heat dissipation. A minimum of 1 oz copper thickness is recommended for the PCB.
To ensure stable output voltage regulation, it's essential to decouple the input voltage with a 10uF ceramic capacitor and a 1uF ceramic capacitor in parallel. Additionally, a 1uF ceramic capacitor should be placed close to the output pin to filter out high-frequency noise.
The maximum allowable ripple voltage on the input pin is 1Vp-p. Exceeding this value may affect the regulator's stability and output voltage accuracy.
While the BD95821MUV-E2 is rated for operation up to 125°C, it's essential to consider the derating curve for output current and input voltage to ensure reliable operation in high-temperature environments.
To protect the device from overcurrent and short-circuit conditions, it's recommended to add an external current limiting resistor or a fuse in series with the input pin. Additionally, a TVS diode can be used to protect against voltage surges and spikes.
