Nexperia recommends a thermal pad size of at least 2 mm x 2 mm, with multiple vias to the ground plane to ensure good heat dissipation. A thermal resistance of < 10 K/W can be achieved with a well-designed PCB layout.
To ensure reliable operation at high temperatures, it's essential to follow Nexperia's recommended derating guidelines for the BCP56-10-QX. This includes reducing the maximum current and power dissipation as temperature increases.
Although the datasheet specifies a maximum voltage rating of 10 V, Nexperia recommends limiting voltage transients to < 15 V to prevent damage to the device. Exceeding this limit may cause permanent damage or affect the device's reliability.
