  • Infineon recommends a symmetrical PCB layout with a ground plane underneath the device to minimize parasitic inductance and ensure optimal performance. A minimum of 4 layers (top, ground, power, and bottom) is recommended.

  • BAW56 has a thermal resistance of 250 K/W. To manage thermal performance, ensure good heat dissipation by using a heat sink, thermal vias, and a thermal interface material. Keep the ambient temperature below 85°C to prevent thermal shutdown.

  • Although the datasheet specifies a maximum operating frequency of 5 GHz, BAW56 can operate up to 6 GHz with some degradation in performance. However, it's essential to evaluate the device's performance at higher frequencies through simulation and testing.
