The BAT54 can operate from -65°C to 150°C, but the maximum junction temperature (TJ) should not exceed 150°C.
To ensure the BAT54 is used within its SOA, follow the maximum ratings and electrical characteristics specified in the datasheet, and consider factors like voltage, current, and temperature.
The typical forward voltage drop of the BAT54 is around 0.35V to 0.45V, depending on the current and temperature.
While the BAT54 can be used as a switch, it's not recommended due to its relatively high forward voltage drop and limited current handling capability. A dedicated switch, such as a transistor or a dedicated switch IC, is usually a better choice.
Use a voltage regulator or a transient voltage suppressor (TVS) to protect the BAT54 from overvoltage. For ESD protection, use a TVS or an ESD protection diode in parallel with the BAT54.
