A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and a separate power plane is recommended. Keep the analog and digital grounds separate and connect them at a single point. Use a ferrite bead or a 10-ohm resistor in series with the VCC pin to reduce noise.
Calibration involves adjusting the gain and offset of the current and voltage channels. Use the built-in calibration registers to adjust the gain and offset. You can also use an external calibration circuit to fine-tune the calibration.
The ATM90E26-YU-R can measure currents up to 50A RMS. However, the maximum current that can be measured accurately depends on the burden resistor value and the current transformer turns ratio.
Use a high-accuracy current transformer with a high turns ratio to minimize the effect of harmonics. Also, use a low-pass filter to filter out high-frequency noise. The ATM90E26-YU-R has a built-in harmonic compensation feature that can be enabled to improve accuracy.
Yes, the ATM90E26-YU-R can be used for three-phase energy measurement. You can use three separate devices, one for each phase, or use a single device with a three-phase current transformer and a complex algorithm to calculate the total energy.
