Texas Instruments provides a layout guide in the datasheet, but for optimal performance, it's recommended to follow a star-grounding scheme, keep analog and digital grounds separate, and use a solid ground plane. Additionally, keep the analog input traces short and away from digital signals.
To minimize EMI, use a low-inductance path for the digital outputs, keep the output traces short and away from sensitive analog signals, and consider using a low-pass filter or a series resistor to reduce the output signal's high-frequency content.
The recommended power-up sequence is to apply the analog supply voltage (AVDD) first, followed by the digital supply voltage (DVDD), and then the clock signal. This ensures that the internal analog and digital circuits are properly initialized and avoids latch-up or other issues.
The ADS7957SDBTR has an internal calibration circuit that can be enabled through the CAL pin. Apply a calibration signal to the CAL pin, and the device will automatically adjust its internal offset and gain to achieve optimal accuracy and linearity.
The maximum clock frequency for the ADS7957SDBTR is 20 MHz. Using a higher clock frequency may result in increased power consumption, reduced signal-to-noise ratio, and potential issues with metastability or clock jitter.
