The maximum sampling rate of the ADS1018 is 3300 samples per second (SPS) for a single channel, and 1500 SPS for multiple channels.
The gain settings on the ADS1018 can be configured using the PGA (Programmable Gain Amplifier) bits in the Config Register. The PGA bits allow you to set the gain to 2/3, 4, 5, 6, 8, or 16.
The COMP pin is a comparator output that can be used to generate an interrupt when the analog input voltage exceeds a certain threshold. This can be useful for applications that require fast response to changes in the input signal.
The ADS1018 does not require calibration in the classical sense. However, you may need to perform a system-level calibration to account for any offsets or gain errors in your specific application. This can typically be done by taking measurements at known input voltages and adjusting the digital output accordingly.
The power consumption of the ADS1018 depends on the operating mode and the sampling rate. In low-power mode, the typical current consumption is around 150 μA, while in high-speed mode, it can be up to 1.5 mA.
