A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and a separate power plane is recommended. Keep the input and output traces short and away from noise sources. Use a common mode choke or ferrite bead to filter the power supply.
The ADL5501AKSZ-R2 requires a bias voltage of 5V ± 10% and a bias current of 1.5mA to 3.5mA. Ensure the bias voltage is clean and noise-free, and use a voltage regulator with a low dropout voltage to minimize power consumption.
The ADL5501AKSZ-R2 can handle input powers up to +20 dBm (100 mW) without damage. However, the maximum input power for optimal performance is +15 dBm (30 mW).
Calibrate the ADL5501AKSZ-R2 by applying a known input power and adjusting the output voltage to match the expected value. Use a calibration factor to compensate for any deviations from the ideal response.
