A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and a separate analog ground plane is recommended. Keep the analog and digital grounds separate and connect them at a single point. Use a star topology for the power supply connections and keep the sensitive analog signals away from the digital signals.
Calibration involves adjusting the internal gain and offset of the ADC. Use the CAL pin to initiate calibration. The device will then adjust its internal gain and offset to optimize performance. Refer to the datasheet for the calibration procedure.
Power up the device in the following sequence: VDD, AVDD, and then DVDD. Ensure that the power supplies are stable and within the recommended voltage range before applying the clock signal.
Use a low-inductance, low-capacitance PCB layout for the digital outputs. Terminate the outputs with a 50-ohm resistor to match the impedance of the transmission line. Use a shielded cable or a twisted pair to connect to the receiving device.
The ADE9078ACPZ can support clock frequencies up to 64 MHz. However, the maximum clock frequency may vary depending on the specific application and the quality of the clock signal.
