A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and a separate analog ground plane is recommended. Keep the analog and digital grounds separate and connect them at a single point. Use a star topology for the power supply and keep the power traces away from the analog signals.
Calibration involves adjusting the internal gain and offset registers to compensate for device variations. Use the provided calibration software or write a custom calibration routine using the device's registers. Refer to the application note AN-1391 for more information.
The maximum allowed voltage on the analog input pins is 5.5V. Exceeding this voltage can damage the device. Ensure that the input signals are properly attenuated or clamped to prevent overvoltage.
Use a metal shield around the device, keep the PCB layout compact, and use a common-mode choke on the power supply lines. Ensure that the device is properly grounded and that the analog and digital circuits are separated.
The recommended clock frequency is 10 MHz, but the device can operate with clock frequencies between 5 MHz and 20 MHz. Ensure that the clock signal is clean and stable to prevent jitter and noise.
