A good PCB layout for the ADA4896-2 involves keeping the input and output traces short and away from each other, using a solid ground plane, and decoupling the power supplies with capacitors. A 4-layer board with a dedicated analog ground plane is recommended.
The gain resistors should be chosen based on the desired gain and bandwidth. A good starting point is to use 1% or 0.1% resistors with a value between 1 kΩ and 10 kΩ. The ADA4896-2 datasheet provides a gain resistor selection table to help with this.
The maximum power dissipation of the ADA4896-2 is 1.3 W per amplifier, assuming a 5 V supply and a 150°C junction temperature. However, this can be limited by the package thermal resistance and the PCB thermal design.
Yes, the ADA4896-2 can be used as a single-ended amplifier by tying the negative input to ground or a fixed voltage. However, this will reduce the common-mode rejection ratio (CMRR) and the power supply rejection ratio (PSRR).
Noise and oscillations can be filtered out using a combination of capacitors, resistors, and ferrite beads. A good starting point is to add a 10 nF to 100 nF capacitor between the power supply pins and ground, and a 10 Ω to 100 Ω resistor in series with the input signal.
