A good PCB layout for the ADA4661-2ACPZ-R7 involves keeping the input and output traces short and symmetrical, using a solid ground plane, and minimizing the distance between the device and the decoupling capacitors. A 4-layer PCB with a dedicated ground plane is recommended.
To ensure proper biasing, connect the VPOS and VNEG pins to a stable voltage source, and decouple them with 0.1uF and 10uF capacitors, respectively. The voltage reference pin (VREF) should be connected to a stable voltage source or a voltage divider network.
The recommended power-up sequence is to apply the power supplies (VPOS and VNEG) first, followed by the voltage reference (VREF) and finally the input signals. This ensures that the device is properly biased and stabilized before the input signals are applied.
To minimize EMI and RFI, use a shielded enclosure, keep the device away from high-frequency sources, and use a common-mode choke or ferrite bead on the input and output lines. Additionally, use a low-pass filter or a shielded cable to connect the input and output signals.
The ADA4661-2ACPZ-R7 has a thermal pad on the bottom of the package. To ensure proper thermal management, use a thermal interface material (TIM) between the device and a heat sink or a metal plate. A heat sink with a thermal conductivity of at least 1 W/m-K is recommended.
