A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and a separate analog ground plane is recommended. Keep the analog and digital grounds separate and connect them at a single point. Use a star-grounding configuration and avoid routing digital signals near the analog inputs.
Use a low-ESR capacitor (e.g., 10uF) between the VDD and GND pins, and a 0.1uF capacitor between the AVDD and AGND pins. Add a 10uF capacitor between the DVDD and DGND pins if using the digital interface. Ensure the power supply is clean and well-regulated.
The recommended input signal range is 0V to 4.096V. The input impedance is 1MΩ, so ensure the signal source impedance is less than 1kΩ to maintain signal integrity.
Perform a system calibration by applying a known input voltage and adjusting the offset and gain trim bits to achieve the desired accuracy. Refer to the datasheet for calibration procedures and equations.
The maximum clock frequency is 20MHz. Ensure reliable data transfer by using a clock signal with a rise and fall time of less than 10ns, and maintaining a minimum of 10ns between clock edges.
