A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and a separate analog ground plane is recommended. Keep the analog and digital grounds separate and connect them at a single point. Use a star topology for the power supply connections and keep the signal traces short and direct.
Use a low-jitter clock source (<100 ps) and ensure the clock signal is properly terminated. The clock input should be a differential signal with a common-mode voltage of 1.6 V. Use a clock frequency that is a multiple of the sampling frequency to minimize jitter.
Power up the analog supply (AVDD) first, followed by the digital supply (DVDD). Ensure that the analog supply is stable before applying the clock signal. Finally, apply the digital input signals.
The AD9283BRSZ-100 outputs 10-bit parallel data. Use a FIFO or a buffer to handle the high-speed data output. Ensure that the receiving device can handle the data rate of up to 100 MSPS.
