The recommended power-up sequence is to apply VCC before applying VREF. This ensures that the internal reference voltage is stable before the ADC starts converting.
To minimize noise and ensure accurate conversions, keep the analog and digital grounds separate, use a solid ground plane, and keep the analog input traces away from digital traces. Also, use a low-ESR capacitor for the VREF pin and a 0.1uF capacitor for the VCC pin.
The maximum sampling rate of the AD7891APZ-2 is 250 kSPS. As the sampling rate increases, the power consumption also increases. At maximum sampling rate, the power consumption is approximately 15 mW.
The AD7891APZ-2 outputs 12-bit data in a serial format. The output data is in two's complement format, with the most significant bit (MSB) first. The output data can be handled using a microcontroller or a dedicated interface IC.
The AD7891APZ-2 operates over a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. Temperature affects the ADC's offset and gain errors, which can be calibrated out using external circuitry or software correction.
