A good layout and routing practice is to keep the analog and digital grounds separate, use a solid ground plane, and keep the analog and digital signals separate. Also, keep the ADC input pins away from the digital signals and use a low-pass filter to reduce noise.
The AD7865ASZ-2 has an internal calibration circuit that can be enabled by setting the CAL pin high. The calibration process takes about 100 μs and should be done after power-up and before taking any conversions.
The recommended power-up sequence is to apply the analog power supply (VCC) first, followed by the digital power supply (VDD), and then the clock signal. This ensures that the internal circuitry is properly initialized and prevents latch-up or damage.
The AD7865ASZ-2 outputs 12-bit data in a parallel format. The output data format can be configured as either straight binary or two's complement. The word length can be set to 12 bits or 16 bits by configuring the MODE pin.
The maximum sampling rate of the AD7865ASZ-2 is 200 kSPS. The conversion time is approximately 2.5 μs, which includes the acquisition time and the conversion time. The sampling rate and conversion time can be affected by the clock frequency, input signal frequency, and the number of conversions.
