A good layout and routing practice is to keep the analog and digital grounds separate, use a star-ground configuration, and keep the analog signal paths as short as possible. Additionally, use a solid ground plane and avoid routing digital signals near the analog inputs.
The reference input should be driven with a low-impedance source, such as a voltage reference or a buffer amplifier. The input impedance of the reference input is typically around 10 kΩ, so a buffer amplifier with a low output impedance is recommended to ensure stability.
The recommended power-up sequence is to first apply the analog supply voltage (AVDD), followed by the digital supply voltage (DVDD), and finally the clock signal. This ensures that the analog circuitry is powered up before the digital circuitry.
The AD7691BRMZ-RL7 has a built-in offset and gain calibration feature. The device can be calibrated using the CAL pin, which allows the user to adjust the offset and gain of the ADC. Additionally, the device has a built-in zero-scale and full-scale calibration feature.
The maximum sampling rate of the AD7691BRMZ-RL7 is 250 kSPS. The power consumption of the device increases with the sampling rate, so it's recommended to use the lowest sampling rate necessary for the application to minimize power consumption.
