The recommended power-up sequence is to apply VDD first, followed by VLOGIC, and then the digital interface signals. This ensures proper device operation and prevents potential latch-up conditions.
To ensure monotonicity, it is recommended to use a clock frequency of at least 10 kHz and to avoid making large changes in the wiper position in a single clock cycle. Additionally, the user should ensure that the digital interface is properly synchronized with the clock signal.
The maximum operating frequency of the AD5115 is 50 MHz. However, the recommended operating frequency is up to 10 MHz to ensure reliable operation and minimize power consumption.
When the wiper is at the extreme ends of the resistor array, the device may exhibit non-linear behavior. To mitigate this, the user can implement a 'deadband' region at the ends of the resistor array, where the wiper is not allowed to move. This can be achieved through software or firmware implementation.
The AD5115's performance is affected by temperature, with the device's resistance tolerance and temperature coefficient (TCR) specified over the operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C. The user should consider these specifications when designing their system to ensure reliable operation over the desired temperature range.
