A 2-layer or 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and thermal vias is recommended for optimal thermal performance. The device should be placed near a thermal pad or a heat sink to dissipate heat efficiently.
To ensure EMC, use a shielded cable for the USB interface, and consider adding EMI filters or ferrite beads to the power lines. Additionally, follow good PCB design practices, such as separating analog and digital grounds and using a solid ground plane.
The maximum allowed voltage on the VCC pin is 5.5V. Exceeding this voltage may damage the device. It is recommended to use a voltage regulator or a voltage limiter to ensure the voltage stays within the specified range.
The POR and BOR features are enabled by default. To handle these features, ensure that the power supply is stable and within the specified range before enabling the device. You can also use external circuitry to delay the power-on sequence or implement a power-on reset circuit.
The recommended clock configuration is to use an external crystal oscillator with a frequency of 12 MHz or 16 MHz. The internal oscillator can also be used, but it may not provide the same level of accuracy as an external crystal oscillator.
