The TLC14CD can operate up to 100 kHz, but it's recommended to limit the frequency to 50 kHz for optimal performance and to avoid oscillations.
To ensure stability, use a compensation capacitor (Cc) between pins 1 and 16, and a bypass capacitor (Cb) between pin 14 and ground. Also, keep the input and output capacitors as close to the IC as possible, and use a low-ESR capacitor for Cb.
The minimum ESR required for the output capacitor (Cb) is 0.5 ohms. Using a capacitor with a lower ESR can cause instability and oscillations.
While the TLC14CD can be used as a voltage regulator, it's not recommended due to its limited current capability (up to 1.5A) and lack of short-circuit protection. Instead, consider using a dedicated voltage regulator IC.
The output voltage (Vout) of the TLC14CD can be calculated using the formula: Vout = (1 + R2/R1) * Vref, where R1 and R2 are the feedback resistors, and Vref is the reference voltage (typically 2.5V).
