Texas Instruments recommends a compact layout with the TL2842DR-8 placed close to the power source, and the input and output capacitors placed as close as possible to the device. A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane is recommended to minimize noise and EMI.
To ensure stability, use a minimum output capacitance of 10uF, and ensure that the output capacitor's ESR is less than 1 ohm. Additionally, place a 10nF to 100nF capacitor between the VCC pin and GND to filter out high-frequency noise.
Although the datasheet specifies a maximum input voltage of 18V, it's recommended to limit the input voltage to 15V to ensure reliable operation and prevent damage to the device.
The TL2842DR-8 is rated for operation up to 125°C, but its performance may degrade at high temperatures. Ensure that the device is properly heatsinked, and consider derating the output current to prevent overheating.
The output voltage of the TL2842DR-8 can be calculated using the formula: VOUT = (1 + R1/R2) * 1.25V, where R1 and R2 are the resistors connected to the FB pin.
