STMicroelectronics provides a recommended PCB layout in the application note AN2158, which includes guidelines for component placement, and thermal management.
The thermal shutdown feature is enabled by default. To handle it, monitor the TSD pin, which goes low when the die temperature exceeds 150°C. You need to implement a cooling mechanism or reduce the power consumption to bring the temperature back within the safe operating range.
Although the datasheet specifies a maximum VCC voltage of 5.5V, it's recommended to keep it below 5V to ensure reliable operation and prevent damage to the internal voltage regulator.
The gain and offset can be adjusted using external resistors. Refer to the application note AN2158, which provides a detailed explanation of the gain and offset configuration, along with examples and calculation formulas.
STMicroelectronics recommends a two-point calibration procedure, which involves applying known pressure points to the sensor and measuring the corresponding output voltages. The calibration coefficients can then be calculated using the measured values.
