The maximum clock frequency that can be used with the internal oscillator is 16 MHz. However, it's recommended to use a clock frequency of 12 MHz or less to ensure reliable operation.
The GPIO pins can be configured as inputs or outputs using the PxDIR (Port x Direction) register. Setting a bit in PxDIR to 1 configures the corresponding pin as an output, while setting it to 0 configures it as an input.
The RST/NMI pin is a dual-function pin that can be used as either a reset input or a non-maskable interrupt (NMI) input. To use it as a reset input, connect it to a reset source and ensure that the RST/NMI pin is not configured as an NMI input. To use it as an NMI input, configure the RST/NMI pin as an NMI input using the SFRIE1 register and connect it to an NMI source.
The watchdog timer (WDT) can be enabled and configured using the WDTCTL register. The WDT can be used to reset the device if it fails to refresh the WDT within a certain time period. The WDT timeout period can be set using the WDTPS bits in the WDTCTL register.
The power consumption of the MSP430G2132 varies depending on the operating mode. In active mode, the power consumption is typically around 250 μA/MHz. In low-power mode 3 (LPM3), the power consumption is typically around 1.5 μA. In low-power mode 4 (LPM4), the power consumption is typically around 0.5 μA.
