  • A good PCB layout for the MCP9700BT-E/TT involves placing the sensor near the thermal source, using a thermal pad or a copper pour to dissipate heat, and minimizing the distance between the sensor and the thermal source.

  • Calibration involves comparing the sensor's output to a known temperature reference point, and adjusting the offset and gain values accordingly. A calibration procedure can be found in the datasheet or in application notes.

  • The maximum cable length for the I2C interface depends on the clock frequency and the capacitance of the cable. As a general rule, keep the cable length as short as possible (<10cm) and use a shielded cable to minimize electromagnetic interference.
