Microchip recommends a 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane, and placing the ADC close to the analog signal source. Decoupling capacitors should be placed as close as possible to the VDD and VSS pins. A dedicated analog ground plane is also recommended.
To minimize EMI, use a shielded enclosure, keep analog and digital traces separate, and use a common-mode filter or ferrite bead on the analog input lines. Additionally, ensure that the PCB layout is designed to minimize radiation and susceptibility to EMI.
The maximum sampling rate of the MCP3021A3T-E/OT is 1 Msps (million samples per second) in the Fast mode, and 500 ksps (kilosamples per second) in the Low-Power mode.
The MCP3021A3T-E/OT does not require calibration. It has an internal voltage reference and a self-calibrating architecture that eliminates the need for external calibration.
The MCP3021A3T-E/OT has a built-in POR circuit that resets the device when the power supply voltage (VDD) rises above 1.5V. The POR circuit ensures that the device is in a known state after power-up.
