  • The LT3971 can handle input voltages up to 60V, but it's recommended to keep it below 50V for optimal performance and reliability.

  • To optimize the layout, keep the input and output capacitors close to the IC, use a solid ground plane, and minimize the length of the input and output traces. Also, keep the switching node (SW pin) away from sensitive nodes.

  • A low-ESR ceramic capacitor (X5R or X7R dielectric) with a voltage rating of at least 50V is recommended for the input capacitor (CIN).

  • Choose an inductor with a saturation current rating higher than the peak current, and a DC resistance (DCR) as low as possible. A shielded inductor is recommended to reduce EMI.

  • The LT3971 can deliver up to 1.5A of output current, but it's recommended to derate the output current based on the input voltage, output voltage, and ambient temperature.
