ROHM recommends a thermal pad on the bottom of the package, connected to a large copper area on the PCB to dissipate heat efficiently. A minimum of 2oz copper thickness is recommended.
To ensure stable operation with a high-impedance input source, add a 1kΩ to 10kΩ resistor in series with the input pin to prevent oscillation. Additionally, consider adding a 10nF to 100nF capacitor in parallel with the input pin to filter out high-frequency noise.
The maximum allowed voltage on the enable pin (EN) is 6V, regardless of the input voltage (VIN). Exceeding this voltage may damage the device.
The output voltage ripple can be calculated using the formula: ΔVout = (Iout * ESL) / (Cout * fsw), where ESL is the equivalent series inductance of the output capacitor, Cout is the output capacitance, and fsw is the switching frequency.
ROHM recommends using a ceramic capacitor with a value of 10uF to 22uF, X5R or X7R dielectric, and a voltage rating of 10V to 25V, depending on the input voltage range.
