The maximum junction temperature of the AO3400A is 150°C. However, it's recommended to keep the junction temperature below 125°C for reliable operation.
To ensure proper biasing, make sure to provide a stable input voltage within the recommended range (4.5V to 28V), and use a suitable bootstrap capacitor (typically 1nF to 10nF) to decouple the high-side driver.
To minimize EMI, use a multi-layer PCB with a solid ground plane, keep the high-current paths short and wide, and use a shielded inductor. Also, place the AO3400A close to the power inductor and use a common ground point for the high-side and low-side drivers.
Yes, the AO3400A can be used in a synchronous buck converter configuration. However, ensure that the dead time between the high-side and low-side drivers is properly set to prevent shoot-through current.
