The recommended power-up sequence is to apply VDD first, followed by VREF, and then the analog input signal. This ensures proper operation and prevents damage to the device.
To optimize the analog input signal range, ensure that the input signal is within the specified range of 0 to VREF. You can also use an external voltage divider or amplifier to adjust the input signal to the optimal range.
The maximum sampling rate of the ADS7888 is 1 MSPS (mega-samples per second). However, the actual sampling rate may be limited by the system clock frequency and the conversion time.
During power-down mode, the SDO pin should be left floating or tied to a high-impedance state to prevent any unwanted data transmission.
The CAL pin is used for calibration and self-test purposes. To use it, apply a logic high to the CAL pin to initiate the calibration sequence. The device will then perform an internal calibration and return to normal operation.
