The recommended power-up sequence is to apply the analog supply voltage (VCC) before the digital supply voltage (VDD). This ensures that the internal analog circuitry is powered up before the digital circuitry.
To optimize the layout, keep the analog and digital grounds separate, use a solid ground plane, and keep the analog input traces short and away from digital signals. Also, use a low-ESR capacitor for the VCC pin and a 0.1uF capacitor for the VDD pin.
