The recommended power-up sequence is to apply VDD first, followed by VREF, and then the clock signal. This ensures that the internal bias voltage is established before the clock is applied.
The analog input range can be optimized by selecting the appropriate gain setting and adjusting the reference voltage (VREF) to match the input signal amplitude. The datasheet provides guidance on gain settings and VREF selection.
The maximum clock frequency is 20 MHz, but it's recommended to use a clock frequency between 10 MHz to 15 MHz for optimal performance.
The AD7357 has a built-in overrange detection feature that sets the MSB (most significant bit) to '1' when the input signal exceeds the selected range. You can use this feature to detect and handle out-of-range inputs in your application.
A good layout and routing practice is to keep the analog and digital signals separate, use a solid ground plane, and minimize noise coupling between the analog input and digital output signals. The datasheet provides guidance on PCB layout and routing.
